A talent agent for Food Network’s popular television show, Kids Baking Championship, contacted Antsy Nancy to identify prospective contestants from Tucson, Arizona.
The Kids Baking Championship is a popular Food Network show featuring hosts and judges, Duff Goldman and Valerie Bertinelli. Young bakers between the ages of 8-13 compete in fun baking battles to become the next Kids Baking Champion, who take home a prize of $25,000 and feature in Food Network Magazine.
The Food Network’s talent agent found Antsy Nancy’s Summer Camp Baking Week online and knew this would be an ideal place to find aspiring master bakers, said Heidi Yribar, Antsy Nancy Founder and CEO. “For kiddos interested in putting their baking skills to the test, we would love to help with the application and introduction to the talent agent.”
During Antsy Nancy’s Summer Camp Baking Week, offered the week of June 6 from 9am-12pm, and again the week of July 11, campers will learn the skills required to execute Madeleines, cupcakes – both baking and decorating 4-ways, cookie decorating with royal icing, cake decorating, and making and cooking churros (don’t worry mom, they’re using air fryers).
“Pictures of recent baking projects, as well as a video explaining why they think they’d be perfect for the show, are required components for the application,” said Yribar. “Our camp staff will ensure interested kids gets perfect pictures each day with their expertly executed confections and at the end of the week, we’ll record a great application video from the Antsy Nancy kitchen.”
Any family can apply at anytime at bakingchampionship.com, but according to Yribar, she has the talent agent’s mobile number on speed dial! Yribar is also offering free baking, cake decorating, and cookie decorating classes to any Antsy Nancy student or camper selected to be a contestant, to help them prepare for the competition.
The talent agent stressed that the Food Network is looking for kids that aspire to be exceptional bakers, not existing professionals. “We can’t wait to meet all our aspiring young bakers at Summer Camp,” said Yribar. “At Antsy Nancy, all kids are champions!”
