March Homeschool Program: Viva Italia!

Get ready to roll, shape, and create in this hands-on multi-session pasta making series designed just for homeschool students! In this interactive cooking class, students will explore the traditions of Italian cuisine while building foundational kitchen skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Each session focuses on a different style of fresh pasta, giving students the opportunity to learn essential techniques while discovering how ingredients, regions, and methods come together to create classic dishes.

In this series, students will:

  • Learn kitchen safety and proper knife skills

  • Measure, mix, knead, and roll fresh pasta dough from scratch

  • Practice shaping and forming different pasta styles

  • Explore sauces, fillings, and flavor pairings

  • Build confidence, teamwork, and independence in the kitchen

Pasta Sessions Include:

Fettuccini – Master long, ribbon-style pasta and pair it with a simple, delicious sauce.
Ravioli – Learn to prepare flavorful fillings and seal stuffed pasta like a pro.
Gnocchi – Discover the science of this pillowy potato pasta and the technique behind perfect texture.
Tortelli – Shape elegant filled pasta while learning about regional Italian traditions.

At the end of each class, students will sit down together to enjoy the meal they created — building not only cooking skills, but community around the table.

What you will learn:

Students will learn to follow recipes with precision. We will learn various baking tools and equipment, and the spices and culinary traditions of different regions. Kitchen safety, safe food handling, and clean-up will be top priorities at all times.

What to expect:

Upon check-in, students are provided storage for personal items before visiting the handwashing station. Most activities will take majority of the 10am-12pm timeframe. If students complete projects early, we will do arts and crafts, or play games. If parents would like to pick students up early, they must do so with instructor. Students will enjoy the meals they create with their classmates. PLEASE NOTE: Students must follow Antsy Nancy safety rules and demonstrate appropriate behavior and respect at all times, to instructors and other students. If they are unable to do so, emergency contact will be asked to pick student up immediately. Student will not be permitted to stay and registration fees will not be refunded.
