How to Make a 4th of July Dessert Platter

Be an all-star at your 4th of July picnic or potluck with our red, white, and blue, chocolate dipped desserts. We’ll use candy melts and sprinkles to create spectacular chocolate dipped Oreos, patriotic rice crispy treats, and fireworks worthy strawberries.

This class is optional as a Parent & Child class, where both parent and child can attend class, working together to complete project. If child is able to work independently and would like their own materials, add additional materials.

Attendees will learn technique for working with candy melts to create deliciously dipped desserts.

What to expect

Upon check-in, students are provided aprons and storage for personal items before visiting the handwashing station. Beverages will be self-served prior to settling into a thoroughly cleaned and sanitized workspace. Class will begin with a brief presentation; providing overview, background information, project relevance, and sample uses. Tools and materials will be distributed before instructor takes the class step-by-step through process of dipping fruit and desserts into candy melts, before adding sprinkles, and multi-colored chocolate drizzle. Each student will create 6 dipped and decorated berries, 6 crispy treats, and 6 Oreos, packaged in a pastry box to take home.
