A Cricut is an electronic cutting machine that can cut all sorts of designs from materials like paper, vinyl, card stock, and iron-on transfers. Some Cricut machines can even cut leather and wood! You can use the Cricut to cut just about anything you would typically cut with scissors or an X-acto knife.
Cricut 101 will cover an overview of the Cricut Maker, Cricut Explore, & Cricut Joy machines. Including a comparison of each machine and what comes with purchase of each machine. A comprehensive breakdown of all the tools and blades Cricut carries and what machines they are compatible with. A description of how to operate each machine and what materials and types projects each machine is capable of creating.
Please note in registration if you have a Cricut machine that you will bring or if you’d like to use (or share, depending on need) one of our machines.
In addition to Cricut overview and demonstration of uses, instructor will provide a brief introduction into Design Space including, a description of each of the tabs and design tools and how they operate. You will also learn the legalities to selling projects made using the Design Space software and Cricut machines. A more in-depth course into Design Space will be offered in Cricut 102.
Upon check-in, students are provided aprons and storage for personal items before visiting the hand washing station. Refreshments will be self-served prior to settling into a thoroughly cleaned and sanitized workspace. Students will receive tips and tricks on how to use and make your tools last longer and how to use designs space more efficiently.
